Give This Christmas
Posted on December 1st, 2009.
This Christmas, we wanted to provide you with several, easy ways that you can make a difference in the lives of those who need assistance. We spend this season celebrating the way Jesus came to rescue us in our need, and we want our giving to reflect that this Christmas.
Here are the 6 ways you can give this Christmas:
1.Socks for the Montrose Street kids
Martin and Kim Dale minister to street kids living in the Montrose area of town. One of their greatest needs during the winter is socks to help keep warm. We need NEW white crew socks in mens and womens sizes. You can place them in the barrels in the lobby.
2.Non-perishable food items for the needy
We want to distribute food to those in need. Please bring non-perishable foods and place them under the Christmas tree in the foyer.
3.Unwrapped Christmas gifts for boys and girls
Some kids get few, or no presents at Christmas. You can help bring some joy into their life this Christmas. You can give unwrapped toys for kids through teen-age. Please place under the Christmas tree in the foyer.
4.Small items for nursing home residents.
Every month, we minister to the residents of West Oaks Nursing Home. There are things they love to receive for Christmas – personal sized toiletries, perfumes, lotions, socks, cosmetics, scarves, throws, stuffed animals, candies. We’ll use these to make stockings for them. We need them by December 12th. Please place in the barrels in the foyer.
5.Gift Cards for Hosanna’s Single Parents
Single parents often face an increased financial burden at Christmas as they try to provide for their family, as well as make Christmas special. You can help by bringing Gift cards for them. Please place them in the tithe and offering boxes in the foyer and the sanctuary.
6.Give financially
If you would like to donate financially you can give online, at the kiosk in the lobby, or by writing a check and placing it in the tithe and offering boxes. Please give to “Christmas Outreach”. The money will be distributed across our outreach efforts.
Thanks for helping to bring joy to those in need this Christmas!
